AG Group, Inc. now WildPackets, Inc.

New name reflects broader product offering, symbolizes vision for the future

WALNUT CREEK, California - September 19, 2000

AG Group, Inc., developers of EtherPeek and other high-performance, cross-platform tools that deliver real-time, strategic information about an organization's network and Internet presence, celebrates its tenth successful year in business this year. To mark this milestone, the company is unveiling a new corporate identity and announcing new tools that build upon its network and packet analysis core competency at the NetWorld + Interop show in Atlanta later this month.

Since 1990, AG Group has been working to simplify complex management tasks associated with evolving computer networks. Its efforts have netted the company a large and loyal customer base of IT professionals who have helped direct the dynamic development path for its network management tools. Recently, the company has seen dramatic growth in its training division, reflecting its ability to deliver timely course material that includes practical, effective techniques for managing increasingly performance-sensitive networking environments.

Today, as WildPackets, Inc., the company is an increasingly diverse organization, delivering packet analysis, packet-stream assembly, professional services and industry-leading customer support.

"AG Group is now ten years old. What has made this company great has been the outstanding individuals who work here, and the fact that our products are designed to be easy to use, powerful, and innovative." states Mahboud Zabetian, President and CEO. "The time has come to shed the AG Group moniker and don a more appropriate name tag - one which better reflects our size, our accomplishments, our culture and our direction. As WildPackets, we will continue to serve our customers' network management needs with our superb products and training services, will strive to offer the best networking tools on the market, and will continue to raise the bar for our competitors."

"We are very excited about our new corporate identity and what it implies," says Janice Spampinato, VP, Sales and Marketing. "The new name goes a long way towards redefining our image in the marketplace, and helps us realign and refocus our energies around a wider product and service offering. Having expanded our products to include web and IP services monitoring, and extending our market reach by adding network management and packet analysis training, we really are a brand new, ten-year-old company. Our new name reflects our new persona moving forward."

EtherPeek, the company's flagship product, has been both praised and awarded over the years for its graphical user interface and straightforward feature set. Its extensive and extensible decoder technology, real-time and post-capture filtering capabilities, advanced triggering mechanism and other strong packet capture and reporting features have attracted the attention of organizations like Cisco Int'l. EMEA, which has standardized on EtherPeek and other WildPackets products for their Professional Services organization and partners.

With EtherPeek v4.1, a new version that will be previewed at N+I, the company will demonstrate the broadening of the software as a platform for enhanced product development through its Plug-in interface technology. WebStats, the first of a new style of Plug-in featuring detailed user control, will be introduced at N + I along with EtherPeek v4.1.

WebStats adds powerful web site management tools to EtherPeek by delivering key information needed to improve customer acquisition, optimize content placement and analyze the effectiveness of web implementations. With WebStats, a user can develop an accurate picture of real-time, periodic or historical site traffic, identify the hottest areas of their web site and the hottest traffic sources, and pinpoint problems as they occur, sending notifications of user-specified events and conditions. WebStats captures the statistics a user needs to monitor ad campaign and promotion response rates, measure search engine and affiliate placement effectiveness, load balance and troubleshoot complex implementations with ease.

More Plug-in additions for expert and distributed analysis are planned for release in the near future.
