WildPackets Announces AiroPeek™ E-Seminars

Online Seminars And New Training Courses Focus On 802.11b WLAN Analysis

Walnut Creek, California - April 30, 2001

WildPackets Inc., developers of AiroPeek, the industry's first comprehensive, affordable 802.11b packet analyzer, today announced a new series of web-based seminars focusing on wireless LAN analysis in the 802.11b environment.

Seminar topics include the state of the wireless market, 802.11 wireless analysis and technical issues, installing and configuring a wireless LAN, security concerns in WLAN deployment, and AiroPeek and complementary tools from WildPackets. AiroPeek e-Seminars are currently scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00-12:00 PST. Participants may register for the e-Seminars at: www.wildpackets.com/corporate/events.

In addition to the seminar series, WildPackets Academy offers two wireless network analysis courses designed to reduce the amount of trial and error time a network manager might spend fine-tuning their wireless LAN. The two-day WP-101W "Orientation to 802.11 Wireless Network Analysis with AiroPeek" features field-proven wireless network analysis practices using AiroPeek, including hands-on exercises. WP-106 is a three-day course covering details of the emerging 802.11 wireless protocol environment, advanced features in AiroPeek, antenna placement, and performing an RF site survey to discover interference sources. Site surveys are critical for adjusting a wireless LAN for interference, whether the source is structural, a competing device using the 2.4GHz band (such as Bluetooth), or unforeseen issues, such as moisture in books absorbing the radio signal. AiroPeek and New Wireless Bundles WildPackets offers several cost-effective wireless bundles that include AiroPeek, NetSense with 802.11 WLAN support--an expert packet trace analyzer, iNetTools IP test utility suite, wireless NICs, training and extended product maintenance. AiroPeek v.1.1, currently in development, will include support for a broad range of wireless adapters, channel surfing, and more. The new version will ship June 30, 2001. Product maintenance holders will receive this upgrade for free.
