WildPackets Inc., developers of comprehensive, affordable network and internet management tools, today announced that AiroPeek, their 802.11b wireless LAN analyzer, was selected for the N+I 2001 Tokyo "Best of Show" Special Award in the network management category from a field of eight contenders. WildPackets' Chairman and Executive Director, Tim McCreery, was on hand to accept the award, along with representatives from DIT Company, Ltd., WildPackets' distribution partner in Japan. "Japan is a world leader in wireless networking in many respects," states Mr. McCreery. "AiroPeek has been a featured product at three major trade shows in Japan this year, and has enjoyed rapid acceptance by major enterprises here, including Cisco, Canon, Yamaha, Epson, Casio, NCR and others." About AiroPeek AiroPeek, WildPackets' WLAN counterpart for EtherPeek, has quickly become the 802.11b WLAN analyzer of choice for IT Professionals on the forefront of wireless network deployment. AiroPeek v1.1, a new version to be released at the end of June, features channel scanning/surfing, Cisco 340/350 Aironet Series, Symbol Spectrum, Nortel Networks e-mobility, and 3Com AirConnect wireless NIC compatibility, control packet capture, the ability to apply WEP decryption in post-capture mode, and has many new interface options over the 1.0 version. Additional adapter compatibility, in the form of drivers for Agere ORINOCO, Intel PRO/Wireless and Ericsson WLAN NICs, will be available within 60 days of the v1.1 release.
