AiroPeek™ v1.1 to Support Broad Range of WLAN NICs

WildPackets Previews Latest Features at Wireless Summit

Walnut Creek, California - June 12, 2001

WildPackets Inc. today announced that the new release of AiroPeek 802.11b wireless LAN analyzer being previewed at this week's Summit on Wireless Computing in Santa Clara will include compatibility with a broader field of wireless NICs as well as several significant feature and interface upgrades.

AiroPeek v1.1, the new version of the software to be released at the end of June, will support Cisco 340/350 Aironet Series, Symbol Spectrum, Intel PRO/Wireless, Nortel Networks e-mobility, and 3Com AirConnect wireless NIC adapters through special drivers that ship with the product. Additional adapter compatibility for Agere ORINOCO and Ericsson WLAN NICs will be available within 60 days of the v1.1 release.

New features represented in this version include channel scanning/surfing, control packet capture, the ability to apply WEP decryption in post-capture mode, a new 3-pane decoder view, and more. "AiroPeek v1.1 incorporates the features most requested by our early adopters," states Janice Spampinato, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The product will continue to evolve to meet the requirements of those involved in creating WLANs and assuring acceptable performance and security standards are met."
