AiroPeek™ v1.1 Showcased at Networks Telecom 2001

New Features Bolster Wireless Network Monitoring and Security

Walnut Creek, California - June 21, 2001

WildPackets Inc., developers of comprehensive, affordable network and internet management tools, today announced that their AiroPeek v1.1 802.11b WLAN analyzer will be the featured product in Networks Unlimited Stand 20E100 at Networks Telecom 2001 in Birmingham, UK June 26-28. Version 1.1, to be released June 29th, includes several significant feature and UI enhancements to simplify the tasks associated with monitoring and securing wireless LANs.

"For example, when a user plugs an unauthorized access point into an 802.11 wireless LAN and creates a security exposure for the network, AiroPeek's advanced filtering mechanism readily identifies the security breach and notifies the appropriate people by paging or email."

AiroPeek v1.1 supports Cisco 340/350 Aironet, Symbol Spectrum, Intel PRO/Wireless, Nortel e-mobility, and 3Com AirConnect NIC adapters through special drivers that ship with the product. Additional adapter compatibility for Agere ORINOCO and Ericsson WLAN NICs will be available within 60 days of the v1.1 release.

WildPackets' representatives will be on hand at the show to deliver live theater presentations and demonstrations of AiroPeek and NetSense. NetSense, an expert packet trace file analysis tool that pinpoints anomalous traffic conditions for wireless and wired networks alike, is a popular complement to AiroPeek.
