Global Knowledge and WildPackets Form Training Partnership

Cary, NC, August 20, 2001

Global Knowledge, Inc. (www.globalknowledge.com), the world's largest independent provider of integrated IT education solutions, will incorporate WildPackets' world-class network management and protocol analysis products into its curriculum beginning this fall. The joint collaboration with WildPackets, Inc., developers of comprehensive network and Internet management tools, will affect Global Knowledge curriculum delivered both domestically and abroad, including virtually all of its networking courses and its vendor-authorized Cisco, Microsoft and Enterasys courseware.

"Our partnership with WildPackets is a direct result of our continuing drive to use leading-edge tools in our instruction," says Greg Roels, VP of worldwide product development for Global Knowledge. "WildPackets' comprehensive software suite will help learners to design, maintain and troubleshoot networks in a live network environment. The tools are central to a hands-on experience for IT learners to apply what they've learned in real-world situations."

Global Knowledge curriculum that will integrate the tools includes hands-on networking courses, such as "Internetworking with TCP/IP" and "Understanding Networking Fundamentals." WildPackets' products will also be used in many Cisco courses, such as CCNA Bootcamp; in Microsoft Windows 2000 curriculum; and in all Enterasys courses. The products include: EtherPeek, a packet analyzer that manages LANs, WANs, and Web sites; TokenPeek, a network traffic and protocol analyzer; NetSense, a trace file analyzer; iNetTools, a set of network testing tools; and WebStats, a Website management analysis tool for EtherPeek.

"This is definitely a win-win situation," states Dave Kornreich, WildPackets' Director of Sales. "As a training partner, Global Knowledge will provide WildPackets with product and brand name exposure to literally thousands of IT professionals around the world each year. In exchange, Global Knowledge will be able to prepare current and future generations of networking and protocol analysis experts with the best network management software the industry has to offer."

WildPackets' software tools will initially launch in Global Knowledge's classroom-based courses and will soon be integrated in virtual classroom and self-paced e-Learning programs as part of the company's Blended Learning SolutionsT initiative. The initiative uses new course-design methods to provide enterprises with unparalleled flexibility in the content and delivery of IT training programs.
