WildPackets Adds Lucent/Agere ORiNOCO Wireless NIC Support to AiroPeek™

Continues to Broaden Range of Adapter Support that Includes Cisco, Symbol, 3COM, Others

Walnut Creek, California - October 11, 2001

WildPackets Inc., developers of a complete family of network and internet management tools, today announced the release of Lucent (Agere Systems) ORiNOCO PC Card (Silver/Gold) drivers for use with AiroPeek, the industry's first and only comprehensive and affordable WLAN packet analyzer. The ORiNOCO card joins a broad range of supported wireless NIC adapters, including Cisco Aironet 340 and 350, Intel PRO, 3Com AirConnect, Nortel e-mobility and Symbol's Spectrum24® High Rate.

The drivers are for use on Windows ME and 2000 platforms, and do not currently support Station Functions firmware Variant 1, Version 7.00 or later. Support for version 7.0 firmware is under development.

AiroPeek registered owners or anyone wishing to try the demonstration version of AiroPeek with the Lucent drivers can download them from a link from the AiroPeek Supported Hardware page located at http://www.wildpackets.com/support/hardware/airopeek.
