WildPackets Launches EtherPeek NX™

Walnut Creek, California - October 31, 2001

WildPackets Inc., developers of a complete family of network and Internet management tools, today announced the release of EtherPeek NX with NetSense™ Real-Time Expert Technology. EtherPeek NX, a major new product offering from the company, provides a full set of expert features that have been carefully designed to assist IT Professionals analyze, diagnose, and isolate increasingly large and diverse volumes of network data.

The Expert Technology incorporated in EtherPeek NX provides precise, contemporary analyses of many problems facing today's networks. Combining EtherPeek's strong feature set and UI with heuristics developed by experienced and talented packet analysis professionals, WildPackets delivers another powerful, affordable network management tool.

NX Expert Analysis features track more than three dozen separate aspects of network performance, showing the source of problems at the packet level. The Threshold Assistant™ makes it easy to calibrate tests for best performance under different network conditions. The Peer Map creates a map of conversations, showing traffic volume and protocol information for each pair of nodes. NX also ships with a new Software Development Kit (SDK) that includes a Plug-in Wizard for development of custom analysis modules.

"The release of EtherPeek NX reinforces our message of providing our customers with the very best technology at a reasonable price," states Mahboud Zabetian, WildPackets' President and CEO. "With EtherPeek NX, network engineers have access to a complete, high-end expert analysis tool that will assist them in rapidly prioritizing and correcting network problems. At the same time, senior management can feel comfortable knowing that they've made a sound investment in software that provides a rapid return through significant increases in productivity."

EtherPeek NX Unique Features

This Peek-only feature allows new capture windows to be created in real-time so the user can focus on specific traffic elements discovered in an overall traffic capture window. In addition, packets specific to diagnosed problems are only one click away. EtherPeek NX is Windows XP-compatible.
