WildPackets Showcases Wireless LAN Analysis in Free 802.11 Seminar Series and Local 802.11 Planet Expo Event

Walnut Creek, California - November 16, 2001

WildPackets Inc., developers of AiroPeek™ 802.11 wireless LAN analysis software and an entire suite of affordable, accessible network and internet management tools, will host another in a series of nationwide free Wireless LAN Analysis Seminars, in Washington, DC on December 7, 2001. The half-day seminars will highlight the practical aspects of 802.11 engineering and security issues, and help attendees lay a foundation for effective design and troubleshooting in a wireless networking environment.

Attendees will also learn how 802.11 protocols work and how to measure, interpret, and prioritize the various metrics that can be obtained during site assessment and problem solving sessions. A site survey using AiroPeek will be performed, and the basic protocol behavior of access points and clients will be interpreted. The current status of WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and other security options for WLANs will also be addressed.
