WildPackets Focuses on EMEA Business Development

Hires Ex-Cisco Product Manager to Leverage Business Opportunities in EU-based Enterprise Accounts

Walnut Creek, California - December 6, 2001

WildPackets Inc., developers of a complete family of network and Internet management tools, announced that Mr. Richard Buchanan has joined the firm as their EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Business Development Manager. The addition of Mr. Buchanan to WildPackets' international sales and marketing staff marks an intensified focus on sales in the region for the company.

"WildPackets' product sales in EMEA have grown significantly in the past year," says Janice Spampinato, WildPackets' Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The effort to increase market share has been orchestrated by a sales and marketing team based in the states, working in close cooperation with our EU-based channel partners. To build on the momentum created by this team, we needed a strong presence on the ground. Richard has extensive experience in our industry, and a thorough understanding of WildPackets' products and market. His background in partner development will help drive our network management tools into our expanding EMEA enterprise base."

Mr. Buchanan has held network consulting positions at CACI, Inc., IDS, and ATT Global Solutions. In 1998, he joined Cisco Systems Ltd. in the UK as the Professional Services Manager for the Cisco CENS (Cisco Enabled Network Solutions) Program. He also built the Cisco Enterprise PS IPT and Convergence Team. During his tenure at Cisco Systems, Mr. Buchanan negotiated a license to provide all of WildPackets' network management tools to consulting engineers in Cisco's UK-based Professional Services Division. Mr. Buchanan has lived in Europe for 3 years, and will be based in France.
