WildPackets Sponsors Afasic Wrekin "3 Peaks" Challenge

Joint Afasic and EDS Team to Take on UK Mountains to Benefit Children's Charity

Walnut Creek, CA - September 26, 2002

WildPackets Inc., industry-leaders in packet analysis software development, training and support, has signed on as a sponsor for the Afasic Wrekin "3 Peaks" Challenge. Afasic is a UK charity that promotes understanding, acceptance, and opportunities for children and young adults with communication impairments.

A joint Afasic-EDS team will begin the Challenge on 28 September. Their goal is to climb the 3 highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in just 24 hours. WildPackets has provided the funding to outfit the team with safety equipment that includes compasses, a GPS system, first aid kits, torches, and batteries. "WildPackets quickly stepped in to fill a sponsor void when the event date changed, enabling us to proceed as planned with our equipment briefings and practice walks, and greatly lifting our team's spirit and confidence," said Nigel O'Brien, coordinator of the EDS Team.
