WildPackets Extends WAN Reach

UK Partner Integrates EtherPeek NX into WAN Analysis Package

Walnut Creek, CA - November 4, 2002

WildPackets Inc., industry leaders in expert network analysis and management, announced that they have partnered with UK-based Logix Communications to incorporate EtherPeek NX in the Logix MOCHA WAN analyzer package. Logix Communications has developed a PC Card that network managers can use in their existing laptops to tap into WAN links. The complete solution consists of a MOCHA PC Card, WAN interfaces, drivers, WAN decodes, and EtherPeek NX real-time expert protocol analyzer.

"Logix has formed a strategic partnership with WildPackets to utilize EtherPeek NX as a platform for our WAN Analysis tools," says John Burgoyne, Logix Communications Director. "We chose WildPackets' products because they represent the best choice in the competitive world of protocol analysis. We like the powerful feature set and the ease with which we were able to integrate our WAN capabilities directly into the software."

With the newly-announced release of EtherPeek NX, scheduled to ship in December 2002, protocol analysis can be performed simultaneously on one or more LAN segments and one or more WAN segments with the same tool - a capability unavailable in any protocol analysis tool until now.

"EtherPeek was the first analyzer to allow multiple, simultaneous capture sessions to be active at the same time, and will now be the first and only analyzer to support as many NICs as can be managed by the operating system and hardware platform," states Brant Cooper, WildPackets' VP of Corporate Strategy.

The MOCHA WAN agent allows connection to X.21 (V.11, RS.422), RS.449, V.24 (RS.232-C), RS.530, V.35, ISDN Basic Rate B1, B2, and D, E1 / 703 and T1 interfaces including Clear Channel and Fractional channel groups. In addition to LAN/WAN analysis and troubleshooting WAN router problems, the MOCHA WAN Agent with EtherPeek NX captures all desired WAN traffic, including traffic from WAN links, no matter how it is routed on the network.

The MOCHA WAN package is available directly from Logix Communications. Pricing and product specifications are available from http://www.logixcomms.co.uk.
