WildPackets' AiroPeek NX Deployed for 802.11a Testing at Agilent Interoperability Certification Labs

WildPackets Inc., industry-leaders in packet analysis software, training and support, announced that their expert wireless network analyzer, AiroPeek NX, will be used for IEEE 802.11a interoperability testing at the Agilent Technologies Interoperability Certification Labs (ICL).

In addition to ICL's role of selecting products for the test beds, they also are contracted to establish interoperability among wireless LAN vendors for Wi-Fi certification. AiroPeek has been deployed for 802.11b testing at three of Agilent Technologies labs in Europe and Asia. Their San Jose lab will begin using the expert version of the software, AiroPeek NX, for the commencement of 802.11a testing this month.

Lab personnel have discovered that using AiroPeek is the fastest way to set up and ensure that Access Point (AP) configurations are correct, and that the products under test perform as designed. "Some access points (AP) use many screens to configure parameters, so checking configuration can take several minutes. AiroPeek lets me check this in a few seconds, plus I have the confidence that the results are actually read from the AP. I find that AiroPeek's real-time display, its comprehensive filters, and its well laid out and easy-to-read decodes all make checking for correct parameters easy and fast," says Joe Bullock, Test Engineering Manager, ICL.
