WildPackets Launches "Peek into the Classroom" Channel Program

Award-Winning "Peek" Software Furthers Network Management and Educational Imperatives

Walnut Creek, CA - February 11, 2003

WildPackets Inc., innovators in affordable network analysis tool, education and support program development, announced a new educational discount program, available through WildPackets domestic channel partners. "Peek into the Classroom" is designed to benefit academic institutions by providing WildPackets' award-winning EtherPeek and AiroPeek network analyzers to IT departments and the classroom for the best value.

With a dual imperative to operate under tight budget constraints and to train the next generation of IT professionals, universities and K-12 districts have been challenged to find well-supported, easy-to-use, contemporary network management tools for their curriculum and for campus-wide network management. "Peek into the Classroom" addresses these requirements, while also offering discounted tiered pricing and affordably-priced site license options.

Joanne Ziegler, WildPackets' Director of Channel Sales, states "Our customer base has always included IT Professionals from educational institutions that have recognized the facility and affordability of our tools. We have also had hundreds of requests from IT instructors to incorporate our "Peek" software into their curricula. "Peek into the Classroom" gives network managers, teachers and students access to our software for practical network analysis and troubleshooting, and enhances instruction in packet analysis fundamentals."

"WildPackets' new program opens the door for many more educational institutions to teach packet analysis skills and deploy solid management tools for their changing campus network," noted Chris Johnson, President of New Jersey-based Open Access Systems. "Many campuses have both Mac and Windows platforms, and are rapidly adding wireless deployment. Now they can come to one source for wired, wireless, Windows and Mac-based topologies."
