WildPackets' AiroPeek NX™ Network Computing 2003 "Well-Connected" Award Finalist

Walnut Creek, CA - March 31, 2003

WildPackets Inc., innovators in affordable network analysis solutions, announced that AiroPeek NX 1.0 has been awarded finalist status by Network Computing, a CMP Media LLC magazine, for a 2003 Well-Connected Award in the wireless LAN analyzer category. The product was chosen for its solid troubleshooting features, monitoring and security assessment capabilities, real-time filtering, and all-around ease of use.

"We are very proud of our AiroPeek and EtherPeek technology, and honored by the recognition this award nomination conveys," states Mahboud Zabetian, WildPackets' CEO. "Last year, EtherPeek NX was a finalist for and won in the protocol analyzer category, and it is quite a distinction to be nominated two years in a row. We find that a Well-Connected nomination from this credible publication means a lot. Nominees are truly top-performers rather than simply products from companies that spend the most advertising dollars. Many customers are drawn to us through this venue."

"To be considered, all finalists must be technology solutions we've recommended in the past 12 months," said Fritz Nelson, VP and Publisher of CMP's Network Computing. "Our editors worked at length to research and test the best offerings in the technology arena during the course of the year. The products selected in the Well-Connected Awards are unique because they have been tested by our editors who are current or former IT professionals who understand what our readers want products that deliver."

This year, the winners of the Well-Connected Awards will be revealed the evening before NetWorld+Interop 2003 Las Vegas. All Finalists will be highlighted in the May 1st issue of Network Computing and on Network Computing Online at http://www.networkcomputing.com.

AiroPeek NX 1.0 is the first release of the software that debuted in March 2002. 802.11a-compliant AiroPeek NX 1.2 was released in September 2002. AiroPeek NX 2.0, featuring significant security enhancements, and RFGrabber, the world's first Distributed WLAN Analysis Solution, will be previewed at N+I Las Vegas and released in May. AiroPeek NX 802.11 Expert WLAN Analyzer offers both expert diagnostics and frame decoding in real-time, during capture. The Expert System provides real-time, realistic indications of network traffic conditions and problems, rendered in an intuitive display.
