WildPackets Wins Network Magazine 2003 "Product of the Year" Award

Honors Go to EtherPeek NX for Second Year in a Row

Walnut Creek, CA - April 23, 2003

WildPackets, Inc., leading innovators in comprehensive network analysis solutions for wired and wireless LAN infrastructures, has been honored by CMP Media's Network Magazine with a 2003 "Product of the Year" Award for EtherPeek NX v2.0 with RMONGrabber. Products of the Year Awards, bestowed by Network Magazine's editors, recognize the outstanding technical achievement of products and services deemed most significant to the network IT community.

"EtherPeek NX with RMONGrabber stands out in the Protocol Analyzer category for its creative approach to getting the job done - with great benefits to network IT managers and their enterprises," commented Steve Steinke, Editor-in-Chief. "WildPackets proves that innovation in the network IT space is alive and well."

WildPackets CEO Mahboud Zabetian states, "Receiving this award for 2 years running reassures our customers that an investment in our products is an intelligent move, and one that provides an ongoing return. Our staff works hard to continuously develop cost-effective, relevant solutions that simplify complex network management tasks. This recognition of our efforts to ease the management burden and increase productivity by extending the functionality of EtherPeek NX with RMONGrabber is very gratifying."

Network Magazine's annual Products of the Year Awards are acknowledged as one of the networking industry's longest-running and most distinguished awards programs. Award nominations are given to products released in the prior calendar year. Nominees are evaluated on their broad appeal to the reader community; competitive enhancements; price/performance advantages; technical ingenuity; new features and applications; and serviceability to the market. Winners will be featured in the May 2003 issue of Network Magazine and online at NetworkMagazine.com.

About EtherPeek NX v2.0

EtherPeek NX v2.0 is the only tool needed for IT Professionals to manage, monitor, expertly analyze, and troubleshoot their networks. EtherPeek NX features: multi-NIC capture support, allowing users to simultaneously monitor different segments; richly-layered graphing options; enhanced Expert heuristics and ProblemFinder™ technology to automatically identify issues; VoIP analysis; powerful filtering mechanisms; and the most intuitive UI available. Wide-ranging network analysis can be performed on multiple LAN and/or WAN segments simultaneously with EtherPeek NX - a capability previously unavailable from any network analyzer. The SRP for EtherPeek NX is US$3,495.00.

RMONGrabber: Remote Analysis, Local Control

RMONGrabber extends the functionality and expands on the success of WildPackets award-winning EtherPeek and EtherPeek NX analyzers. RMONGrabber enables users of EtherPeek to interactively troubleshoot remote networks in the same way, and with the same powerful features, that are available when using EtherPeek to troubleshoot local networks. A network administrator can communicate with an RMON probe in a remote office location and instantly view the packets in an EtherPeek capture window, identifying problem situations without requiring expensive and inconvenient off-site visits. When installed with EtherPeek NX, RMONGrabber can also build Peer Maps and perform Expert Analysis on remote network segments. The SRP for an RMONGrabber license with no restrictions for number of probes accessed is US$2,500.00.
