WildPackets Ships New EtherPeek Releases

Save-to-Disk Improvements for High Traffic Loads, Performance Enhancements

Walnut Creek, CA - September 17, 2003

WildPackets Inc., innovators in advancing network analysis technology, announced the simultaneous releases of EtherPeek NX v2.1 and EtherPeek for Windows v5.1 Ethernet network analyzers. Following on the heels of the company’s GigaPeek NX release, the new versions of EtherPeek benefit from save- to-disk and performance view enhancements that set GigaPeek apart in its ability to handle high-traffic environments. Both products provide many feature upgrades over previous releases, including more packet selection capabilities, concise new data columns, improved tunneled protocol identification, decoder extensions, new Expert events (EtherPeek NX only), and increased statistic output options.

EtherPeek for Windows v5.1 and EtherPeek NX v2.1 include user-selected performance options, an improved statistics engine for collection and use of trending data, new decoders, and, for EtherPeek NX, new Expert detection for HTTP and DNS protocols. The Expert System is intelligent technology with problem-finding heuristics based on analysis of packet streams, and results displayed in an intuitive fashion by conversation.
