WildPackets Announces Omni³™

Begins Preview Program for Next Generation Distributed Analysis System

Walnut Creek, CA - October 15, 2003

WildPackets Inc., innovators in the science of network analysis, introduced Omni³, a new, comprehensive network analysis platform. Omni³ extends the award-winning local analysis capabilities of WildPackets’ EtherPeek NX product to remote network segments throughout the enterprise, and makes the results available in real-time, on a central network console. The Omni³ platform incorporates the OmniPeek console, the Omni³ Engine and a suite of distributed analysis applications that run on the Omni³ Engine. WildPackets also announced Peek DNX (Distributed Network eXpert), the first analysis application to run on the new Omni³ platform. Peek DNX enables global, real-time troubleshooting across the network using WildPackets’ EtherPeek NX technology.

"Omni³ represents another leap forward in WildPackets’ mission to advance the science of network analysis by delivering better troubleshooting information on more of the network, to more people," said Mahboud Zabetian, President and CEO of WildPackets. "We are continually enhancing our network analysis tools to make it easier and less costly to maintain optimum network conditions, and Omni³ extends what we’ve learned to more network segments than ever before."

About Omni³

Omni³ extends real-time troubleshooting across the entire network. From one OmniPeek Console, a network engineer can perform local analysis as well as connect to Peek DNX Expert Analysis engines anywhere in the world. Using a unique technology called Intelligent Data Transport, the Omni³ architecture ensures that the analysis is done by distributed applications located throughout the network, and that only the analysis results are transferred over the network to the OmniPeek Console. Data sent back to OmniPeek is compressed, encrypted, and optimized for network utilization. The engine currently supports 10/100/1000 Ethernet, and will soon support 802.11 and WildPackets’ GigaPeek™ Analyzer Card.

About Peek DNX

Peek DNX is the first application to run on the Omni³ Engine. Available in early November, Peek DNX provides the ability to perform global, real-time network troubleshooting across the network. Based on WildPackets’ award-winning NX technology, Peek DNX analyzes all network conversations looking for behavior that may represent network or application anomalies.

An Omni³ Preview Program is in place for any IT Professional interested in exercising the pre-release version of the new distributed system. To enroll in the program, please visit www.wildpackets.com
