WildPackets Industry Veterans Assume New Executive Roles

Walnut Creek, California, July 13, 2005 – WildPackets Inc., innovators in advanced network analysis, today announced that Bill Northlich, formerly WildPackets’ VP of Engineering, has assumed the new executive position of Vice President of Technology and Product Management. Peter Vinsel was simultaneously promoted to Vice President of Engineering.

Since joining WildPackets in January 2001 as Vice President of Engineering, Northlich has directed the engineering team through WildPackets’ transition from widely used network analysis software to a broad range of network analysis software and hardware for all topologies. In his new role he will apply that experience to manage the product roadmap for continuous innovation and strong customer focus. In addition, he will guide ongoing and new alliances with technology providers. Northlich came to WildPackets with years of experience in network design, implementation, and management from entrepreneurial and engineering executive roles for IT and venture capital companies.

“Bill’s extensive background in and knowledge of WildPackets’ products and markets makes him an ideal candidate to coordinate our technical and product efforts,” said Mahboud Zabetian, WildPackets CEO. “And Peter’s history of successful development and releases ensures a smooth transition for Engineering.”

Prior to his appointment to Vice President of Engineering, Vinsel was Senior Director of Development, responsible for full product line development engineering. He joined WildPackets in January 2004, bringing 23 years of industry experience, including 16 years focused on networking and telecommunications. He founded Vintel Communications (acquired by Tut Systems), developers of integrated voice and data access products. He has held senior engineering management positions for Tut Systems, Yurie Systems (acquired by Lucent), Premisys Communications, and Farallon Computing (now Netopia). He is a Computer Science graduate of the University of New Hampshire.
