WildPackets Offers Choices for Analyzing 10 Gigabit Networks

New partnership with Gigamon brings WildPackets’ expert analysis to high-speed networks

Walnut Creek, California, November 6, 2006 – WildPackets Inc., innovators in advanced network analysis, today announced a range of solutions that enterprise IT departments can use to troubleshoot and monitor 10 Gigabit networks. Options range from an Intel PRO/10GbE adapter card, which can be installed in a standard Windows system running WildPackets OmniEngine software, to an integrated solution with the Gigamon’s GigaVUE-MP Data Access Switch, which enables IT managers to capture full-duplex 10 Gigabit traffic for analysis across multiple OmniEngines. WildPackets also announced a sales and marketing partnership with Gigamon, the leading provider of data access solutions for out-of-band network monitoring.

"Customers who are deploying 10 Gigabit networks tell us they want to take full advantage of all the Expert analysis, application monitoring, and VoIP troubleshooting capabilities of our OmniAnalysis Platform," said Mahboud Zabetian, President and CEO of WildPackets, Inc. "The options we’re announcing today give customers a broad range of choices for integrating OmniEngines—a key component of the OmniAnalysis Platform—easily and affordably with their 10 Gigabit networks. The Intel PRO/10Gbe cards are an excellent, cost-effective solution for those who want to connect to SPAN or mirror ports. For networks with higher bandwidth requirements, the Gigamon GigaVUE-MP enables customers to capture from high-throughput 10 Gigabit networks and intelligently distribute flows for analysis across multiple one Gigabit analyzers. Currently, other solutions prevent full line rate capture for anything but short bursts."

"We’re thrilled to be working with WildPackets to bring 10 Gigabit network analysis solutions to the market," said Tom Gallatin, VP of Sales for Gigamon. "Combining the power of the GigaVUE Data Access Switch with WildPackets' award-winning network analysis enables customers to troubleshoot everything running on their 10 Gigabit networks, from Layer 2 through Layer 7."
