Legrand North America Monitors its Distributed Network with WildPackets

OmniPeek provides network visibility on a single dashboard for 30 North American locations

Walnut Creek, Calif. - September 09, 2008 – WildPackets® Inc., a leading provider of network and application analysis solutions, today announced that Legrand North America, specialists in products and systems for electrical installations and information networks, has deployed WildPackets OmniPeek™ to monitor and troubleshoot network infrastructures across 30 locations in the United States and Canada.

At Legrand North America, OmniPeek monitors 10 remote sensors and three main stations that support approximately 2,600 employees. One compelling reason the company was drawn to OmniPeek was its ability to perform remote network traffic sniffing in places where staffers were unavailable to provide assistance.

"OmniPeek provides us the tools we need to figure out complex network issues – sometimes remotely – that can only be solved at the network packet level," said Shaun Baddeley, network administrator at Legrand North America. "We have significantly cut down our troubleshooting time which allows us to work on the growth of our business."

"Legrand North America needed real-time visibility into every part of their wired and wireless network spread across 30 separate locations simultaneously from a single interface," said Tony Barbagallo, vice president of marketing at WildPackets. "OmniPeek met those requirements allowing Legrand North America to devote less time to network issues and more towards the primary focus of their IT department – streamlining and consolidating internal and external business processes."

WildPackets OmniPeek offers an intuitive graphical dashboard that IT teams can use to promptly analyze and troubleshoot networks, providing centralized expert analysis for all networks under management. With OmniPeek, network engineers can quickly analyze faults from multiple network segments, drill down through multiple layers of analysis and pinpoint problems that need correction.
