WildPackets and Gigamon
Complete Troubleshooting and Analysis Coverage of 10 Gigabit Ethernet Networks

Gigamon

10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) gives you all the bandwidth you need to accommodate your ever-increasing network load and mix of network services. But like any other network, a 10GbE segment needs to be monitored, managed, and secured. How do you troubleshoot your 10GbE network? Do you have the real-time visibility you need?

WildPackets has partnered with Gigamon to bring the real-time visibility and expert analysis of the WildPackets OmniPeek Product Family to 10GbE networks.

The combined WildPackets/Gigamon solution leverages intelligent pattern match filtering in Gigamon’s GigaVUE data access switch to direct efficient amounts of traffic to one or more WildPackets 1G analyzers, giving you the control you need to analyze and optimize your 10GbE deployments. Use the combined WildPackets/Gigamon solution to troubleshoot your 10GbE network with the OmniPeek troubleshooting features you already know.

Gigamon’s GigaVUE Pattern Match Filtering

Network traffic flowing into a load-sharing GigaVUE switch can be “mapped” using multi-rule filters that distribute data to multiple WildPackets OmniEngines, with each OmniEngine analyzing a specific VLAN range, port number or IP subnet, thereby performing comprehensive monitoring without oversubscribing any single device. Up to 4096 filter rules can be applied per system. GigaVUE performs its filtering in hardware, virtually eliminating latency and enabling multiple data sources to be aggregated with mapping.

The combined power of WildPackets and Gigamon delivers unlimited full line-rate analysis. By comparison, other products can analyze only short bursts of 10GbE traffic.

WildPackets Omnipliance Running OmniEngine

The Omnipliance is a turnkey appliance running WildPackets’ OmniEngine software for 24/7 expert analysis and network troubleshooting. The Omnipliance makes it easy for IT organizations to deploy the OmniPeek Product Family across the enterprise, including 10GbE networks.

Combining Omnipliances with the GigaVUE data access switch gives network engineers immediate real-time visibility into their high-speed networks, and enables them to take full advantage of the OmniPeek Product Family’s Expert analysis, application monitoring, and Voice and Video over IPIP troubleshooting.
