FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
U.S. Public Relations Contact WildPackets and Net Optics Eliminate Every Network and Application Problem—Live at CeBIT 2009: Hall 13 / Booth C73Companies Sign Fiducia as Their Largest Common InstallationWalnut Creek, Calif. - February 17, 2009 – WildPackets and Net Optics, leading providers in passive network and application Analysis and Monitoring solutions, today announced a new joint customer satisfaction program "Eliminating Every Network and Application Problem", which they will present at CeBIT 2009 in Hall 13 / Booth C73. The new program complements their product line with a unique professional service offering to resolve every kind of network or application problem over all OSI Layers. The program includes a free onsite assessment and a paid consulting engagement combined with Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Monitoring Units for Enterprise and ISP NOCs. Passive GigaBit Taps and iMatrix Switches from Net Optics enable the WildPackets’ OmniPeek solutions to capture all traffic on full-duplex gigabit links, in real-time without data stream interference or point of failure. The largest common installation between the two vendors to date is represented by Fiducia, an IT organization which hosts a NOC with almost 4,000 Servers and Mainframes with a combined processing power of almost 53,000 MIPS. Attached to the NOC are more than 800 branch banks with more than 100,000 Desktop Workplaces. Net Optics Matrix switches and WildPackets Omnipliance Network Analyzers enable Fiducia to monitor up to 288 Gigabit links. In choosing WildPackets, Fiducia required the ability to analyze the effects of new applications and services introduced to the network and to alert the networking department if thresholds over any of the OSI Layers were exceeded, such as server response times, network delay, and jitter. Additionally, the solution needed to actively investigate questionable network behavior to prevent network or application problems and assure 100% IT service availability. "Anything less than a grade of 'Excellent' is not acceptable for an IT Organization with our reputation," said a key official at Fiducia. "For the management of our complex and dynamic IT infrastructure, with lots of critical high speed links, it is of the utmost importance to have reliable measurement equipment for proactive monitoring and detailed analysis. The solution from WildPackets and Net Optics fulfills our demanding requirements." "We are pleased to work closely with Net Optics and our mutual partners to deliver complete solutions to large enterprise customers like Fiducia," said Tim McCreery, CEO of WildPackets. "The network has become the business lifeline for the financial services industry and we’re proud to play a role in keeping some of the biggest networks worldwide healthy." "There is great synergy between our solutions and WildPackets' products," said Bob Shaw, CEO of Net Optics. "Adding 100 percent passive access and traffic visibility to network links within OmniPeek, further solidifies our combined leadership position in network and application performance monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting solutions."
