LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
In addition to these exciting changes, we've been hard at work upgrading custom extensions and delivering network monitoring and management best practices. In December, Chris Bloom, released the Ping Latency Monitor. His latest version includes ping scan, built-in graphs, and rolling averages. We're now offering best practice content in a variety of formats. Our popular "Improving the IP Telephony Experience: How to Troubleshoot Converged Networks" presentation is available as an OnDemand Webcast as well as a presentation on SlideShare. We're offering "Best Practices for Analyzing 10G Ethernet Traffic" web seminar on March 10, 2009 at 8:30 AM PST (11:30 AM EST). Jay Botelho, Director of Product Management, will discuss proper placement of network analysis probes to ensure network management and troubleshooting success, as well as optimizing data collection settings so that you're collecting and analyzing the data you expect. He'll also go over techniques you may have used with your 1GbE network segments - giving you the lowdown on which will work as expected and which should be avoided. Please let us know which format and delivery method you like and prefer for best practice content, as well as tell us what topics you'd like to see covered in a future web seminar or newsletter article. We want to make sure that we're providing timely and useful information. Sincerely, ![]() PROBLEM RESOLUTION VIDEO: DISTRIBUTED ANALYSIS

“We were in situations where we had networking failures and couldn't put our finger on the root cause. All this translated into an unacceptable amount of downtime, not to mention very unhappy users. OmniPeek allows all of us to pinpoint performance issues quickly in an automated fashion, eliminating a significant amount of time required with manual network troubleshooting exercises.”
