Letter from the Editor
In October, we released a survey on the state of faster network deployment. Surveying more than 100 network engineers and IT directors on their network capacity and performance management, we learned about the problems they faced through the transition to faster speed, higher capacity networks like 10G and higher.
One of the most interesting things we found was that network visibility and network forensics at 10G speeds and higher are the biggest challenges to those surveyed. Because of this, we have dedicated this edition of Peeks to these topics so that you have all the information you need when you’re organization makes the transition.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and we hope you can join us for some of our upcoming events and webinars.

Upcoming Webinar: Network Analysis on High-Speed Networks
A recent WildPackets survey confirmed that a majority of organizations are already supporting 10G (and beyond) networks, but network visibility does not seem to be keeping up. Join WildPackets’ webinar on November 20 as we look at the state of faster networks, the myths and realities in high-speed network analysis and forensics, and how to use the latest technologies to meet your network analysis and forensics needs. Register for the webinar.
Report: WildPackets Releases ‘The State of Faster Networks’ Survey
As more and more organizations transition to faster network speeds like 10G and higher, WildPackets wanted to know what kind of challenges they are encountering and surveyed more than 100 network engineers and IT directors to find out. Read this report to learn what some of these challenges are and how you can change your network monitoring and analysis strategy to conquer these looming problems. Download the report.
Use Case: WildPackets' Network Forensics
Network forensics, or your 'network time machine,' helps you pinpoint the source of intermittent performance issues and conduct investigations to identify the source of data leaks, HR violations, or security breaches. Get ready now – before a specific event actually happens – so digital evidence is collected and ready to help you find that needle in the haystack. Click here to find out more.
Blog: Key Components Every Network Forensics Solution Should Have to Avoid Data Breaches
In a recent report conducted by Verizon on data breaches, the typical data breach is discovered only after many months. Worst of all, 70 percent of the time, an organization learns about a data breach from an outsider – not a good way to start your day when your company is featured in a New York Times data breach scandal .Read the blog.
