Letter from the Editor
October was an exciting month for WildPackets, as we announced Omnipliance WiFi, the industry's first WLAN analysis appliance to monitor, analyze and troubleshoot distributed, multi-gigabit 802.11ac network traffic. The news was very well received by customers. partners, press and analysts.
November is already off to an exciting start. WildPackets commissioned a survey illustrating the slow but increased adoption around the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard. Christopher Tozzi of The Var Guy published an article highlighting the survey and the need to address the content delivery issue.
Throughout this month, WildPackets will host a number of webinars on the new Omnipliance WiFi and new approaches to Gigabit WLAN analysis, as well as provide guidance on how to prepare for the upcoming Cyber Monday.

Survey: 802.11ac Survey
The move to the next generation of Wi-Fi, 802.11ac is picking up steam quickly, seeing an increase of 540 percent in the last year. However, there is still much work to be done when it comes to client devices that support the new standard. To illustrate the rate of enterprise 802.11ac adoption, WildPackets commissioned a survey across the enterprise and various industries. More than 200 individuals completed the State of 802.11ac Adoption survey and respondents came from organizations of various industries and sizes. Here are some of the key findings from the report:
- Healthcare, high tech and telecommunications account for more than half of all industries that have already deployed 802.11ac
- 23 percent of respondents have already deployed 802.11ac
- 29 percent of respondents have no plans to deploy 802.11ac
