Today, we're hosting delegates for Wireless Field Day at our corporate headquarters in Walnut Creek. Join us virtually at 1:00 PM PDT as our presentation will be streamed live on Vincent Sartor, Director of Engineering, and Jay Botelho, Director of Product Management will be showcasing OmniPeek Network Analyzer for Wireless, just announced today.

In addition to Wireless Field Day, we have a lot more activities planned for Fall: new webinars, new roundtables, and conferences.

Been to one of our roundtables before? Come on back! For the Fall, we've changed up the format. This year, look to get your hands dirty as the workshops are now hands-on. Be sure to bring your laptop with you as you'll be installing and using a 45-day evaluation copy of OmniPeek during the workshop. We plan to have six to eight each month, so chances are good there will be one near you.

Attending Interop New York from October 3rd to 4th? We'll be there too! Stop by our booth (#737) and get a live demo of OmniPeek Network Analyzer for Wireless.

I hope everyone enjoys the last days of summer, and I look forward to connecting with you online or at the various events.

FOCUS ON: Wireless Network Analysis

Wireless network access is a critical element in all enterprise networks; it is no longer a "nice-to-have." $33 billion in productivity improvements for U.S. businesses have been attributed to the U.S. wireless industry (1), with businesses spending more than $1.9 billion in 2010 on tablets, notebooks, and other handheld devices (2). The proliferation of these wireless devices puts increased strain on today's wireless networks.

To help you plan and grow your wireless networks, we have developed a microsite with helpful resources. From the site, you can:

PRODUCT NEWS: OmniPeek Network Analyzer for Wireless

Once again, WildPackets continues to lead the WLAN analysis market; OmniPeek Network Analyzer v7 for Wireless is the first 802.11 ac (along with k, r, u, v, and w) analyzer.

In addition to support for these 802.11 standards, OmniPeek now includes a highly flexible and effective alternative for remote WLAN analysis. Now any computer user, even those with no network analysis skills, can capture the data you need to troubleshoot a wireless device. Simply email the OmniPeek Remote Assistant, a small and secure program available as an option within OmniPeek Enterprise, to your end user and have them double click on the executable, click start, then stop, and return secure files back to you. Interested in learning more? Join us October 17th at 8:30AM PDT for our live Tech Support in the Modern Age webinar.

Other new features greatly reduce mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR). The Compass dashboard now includes signal strength graphing and expert event notification, enabling you to quickly see all key metrics for your WLAN environment in one place. With v7, you can now do multi-channel analysis, capturing all data on all channels in question (requires a wireless adapter for each channel to be analyzed) and aggregating into a single analysis session.
