Features & Benefits
Advanced Voice and Video Over IP Analysis
OmniPeek Enterprise is the only network analyzer offering Ethernet, Wireless, 10GbE, Gigabit, WAN, and Voice and Video over IP diagnostics in real-time. The Expert view provides in-depth analysis of latency, throughput, and numerous network problems in a conversation-centered display. Many of the test elements have user-defined settings and thresholds, allowing you to fine-tune the Expert System to suit your network environment. OmniPeek enterprise can analyze open calls without requiring any expensive voice and video processing hardware - providing unsurpassed capacity for post-deployment troubleshooting. In addition to Voice and Video decodes and analyses, OmniPeek enterprise also evaluates and displays the call setup mechanism, in real-time, for each open call. All active and closed calls in a capture are shown in an elegant summary screen. Single line per call provides easy, single-click drill down statistics for detailed troubleshooting.
It associates all the signaling (including RTCP status reports) and voice and video streams (RTP) on a per call basis and provides a flow of the signaling messages and endpoints that participate in the call. This includes measuring call setup durations and providing a Call Detail Record (CDR) for each call.
The Calls view displays all the calls in the order in which they were captured, with caller, callee, and end cause information. It provides comprehensive signaling analysis of SIP, Cisco Skinny, MEGACO, etc.

Forensics Analysis
Next-generation forensics analysis enables engineers to capture, store, and analyze historical network traffic, in order to conduct investigations for troubleshooting, security attack analysis, HR and policy compliance, application performance analysis, and business transaction analysis. OmniPeek forensics features an optimized data-discovery algorithm, along with utilities for reconstructing Email, IM, and Web traffic.
Intuitive Forensics Search allows you to easily and wisely set your search criteria in order to optimize your network bandwidth and performance.
OmniPeek also allows you to view network traffic in its intended form like PDF, HTML pages, Email, IM, etc. For instance, the web view displays packet flow reconstruction of web requests and responses, allowing you to perform forensic searches by drilling down to individual images, files, and pages. Web data is arranged by server, client, page, or request, providing you with a primary focus for your investigation of the original web content. The Timeline window displays the duration, packets, and phases of each HTTP request.

Real-time Application Performance Analysis
OmniPeek is able to aggregate these conversations by application and rate user satisfaction. Combining user satisfaction with WildPackets’ accurate response time analysis provides an unrivaled new level of application analysis. A new Apdex dashboard provides a high-level view of the quality of service that applications are delivering to end users. Apdex, an industry standard developed by the Apdex Alliance (www.apdex.org), provides a single metric that represents the level of satisfaction users are experiencing with applications. When the dashboard reports a low score, engineers can use OmniPeek to drill down for Expert analysis, graphical reports, and the packets themselves to uncover the root cause of the problem.
The Application view allows you to link end-user satisfaction with the performance of a network application through Apdex.

Top-Down View
OmniPeek provides a high-level view of network traffic using its comprehensive Dashboard view. Dashboards display important data that every network engineer needs to know about the network without spending lots of time analyzing the captured data.
With OmniPeek, you can also drill down and see which nodes your top talkers are talking to. Click again and see what protocols and sub protocols are in use. IT staff of all levels of technical ability, or even executives can view this information instantly, anywhere on the network.

Visual Expert
Visual Expert includes a wealth of accessible tools to perform detailed analysis of conversation flows. These include the Packet Visualizer which shows the interactive requests and responses between the client and the server, payload reconstruction which can show the contents of the flow, a wide range of new conversation-oriented graphs including tcptrace. The visual expert also contains a "What If" view estimating the effects of changes in various network and application parameters on the network performance and a Compare view that assists in detecting communication issues within flows when viewed from different points on the network.

Real-Time Expert Analysis
OmniPeek displays Expert System diagnoses by conversation pair, so you can instantly identify where problems are occurring on the network. Other companies’ analyzers hide this information, listing their alarms by OSI layer.
The Expert EventFinder in OmniPeek provides descriptions and possible causes and remedies for each of the problem conditions the Expert identifies.
The Network Policy Violation Detection allows the user to create, edit, save and reload named descriptions of a particular network-its participants and their expected behavior-for the Expert to use in detecting Network Policy violation events.

Expert Mapping
The OmniPeek Expert Peer Map shows all communicating nodes within your network and is drawn as a vertically-oriented ellipse, able to grow to the size necessary. Reading the Peer Map is easy; the thicker the line between nodes, the greater the traffic; the bigger the dot, the more traffic through that node. The number of nodes displayed can also be limited to the busiest and/or active nodes, or to any OmniPeek filters that may be in use.

On-the-Fly Filters
You shouldn’t have to stop your analysis to change what you’re looking at it. OmniPeek enables you to create filters and apply them immediately. WildPackets’ “select related” feature selects the packets relevant to a particular node, protocol, conversation, or expert diagnosis, with a simple right click of the mouse. Features like this significantly reduce time needed to find and fix problems. Similar operations often take a dozen or more steps in other analyzers.

Global Real-Time Troubleshooting
OmniPeek extends real-time troubleshooting to network segments around the world, delivering expert network analysis, detailed node, protocol, and network summary statistics, and even packet decoding, on multiple segments, by multiple users, in real time. From one console, a network engineer can cost-effectively troubleshoot locally or connect to OmniEngine Expert analysis or other applications running on OmniEngines down the hall, across the country, or across the planet.
Network Coverage
With Ethernet and Wireless capabilities, you can now effectively monitor and troubleshoot services running on your entire network. Using the same solution for troubleshooting wired and wireless networks reduces the total cost of ownership, including training expenses.
10 Gigabit, Gigabit and WAN Support
OmniPeek can analyze traffic from 10 Gigabit, Gigabit and WAN segments using WildPackets 10 Gigabit, Gigabit and WAN analyzer cards to deliver higher performance for mission critical troubleshooting on today’s high-speed wide area networks.
