With network monitoring features such as a network traffic dashboard, peer map, and sophisticated alerts and notifications, OmniPeek delivers expert network analysis, detailed node, protocol, and network summary statistics, and even packet decoding, on multiple segments, by multiple users, in real time.

Ethernet and Wireless capabilities as well as connections to OmniEngines enable you to effectively monitor and troubleshoot services for comprehensive network performance management of your entire network.

Network Traffic Dashboard

OmniPeek provides a high-level view of network traffic using its comprehensive Dashboard view. From one console, you can cost-effectively troubleshoot locally or connect to distributed OmniEngine network probes down the hall, across the country, or across the planet. You can also drill down and see which nodes your top talkers are talking to. Click again and see what protocols and sub protocols are in use. IT staff of all levels of technical ability, or even executives, can view this information instantly, anywhere on the network.

Peer Map

The OmniPeek Peer Map shows all communicating nodes within your network and is drawn as a vertically-oriented ellipse, able to grow to the size necessary. Reading the Peer Map is easy; the thicker the line between nodes, the greater the traffic; the bigger the dot, the more traffic through that node. The number of nodes displayed can also be limited to the busiest and/or active nodes, or to any OmniPeek filters that may be in use.

Sophisticated Alerts and Notifications

If any pre-configured or user-defined indicator drops below acceptable levels, OmniPeek alerts key contacts via email, syslog or SNMP trap. You can specify dependencies between indicators, significantly reducing the incidence of derived, spurious, and false alarms while still ensuring that actual issues are reliably reported. Event handlers can trigger additional network traffic captures to quickly diagnose and correct issues before they become major problems.
