Why WildPackets?

FeaturesWhen you install RMONGrabber, it becomes an integral part of the analyzer. RMONGrabber allows OmniPeek to acquire packets from RMON probes on remote network segments and capture them directly into local Capture windows, where you can use all the Analyzer tools for filtering, decoding, selection, analysis, and more. Probe Capture OptionsThe Probe Capture Options allows the administrator to select whether packets that are acquired from the remote probe should be retrieved in a real-time stream or whether those packets should be delivered once the capture has been finished. It is also possible to set the packet buffer, packet slicing and refresh rates. Probe Filter OptionsBy placing the onus on the probe, remote filtering ensures the most efficient transmission of packets to the analyzer. RMONGrabber has the capability of filtering both addresses and ports. As in OmniPeek, the address filter UI has the same ability to resolve names with its pull out menu. This feature will take a name and covert it to an address or take an address and convert it to a name. The port filter allows for the specification of traffic related to particular services and those ports where the traffic could be addressed. Multiple NIC CaptureOmniPeek allows multiple, simultaneous capture sessions to be active at the same time and from different segments of the network. Multiple capture buffers can be used for a single adapter to separate different types of traffic (ie: TCP/IP into one buffer, NetWare into another). To analyze traffic from different network segments, multiple LAN and/or WAN adapters can be used. If RMONGrabber is employed, packet data from remote segments can also be accessed.
RMONGrabber v1.6 supports the following analyzers:
Remote capture with RMONGrabber requires a supported, standards-compliant RMON probe. RMONGrabber was designed for use with NetScout Probes, but has been tested successfully with other RMON-compliant probes that support the packet capture group.
