Why OmniPeek?

What’s OmniPeek?

What happened to EtherPeek and AiroPeek?

You’ve heard of EtherPeek, our award-winning analyzer for wired networks, and AiroPeek, our award-winning analyzer for 802.11 wireless networks.

You might not be as familiar with OmniPeek, which we introduced in 2003. But OmniPeek is the logical extension of these other two products. In fact, it’s built from the same code base, and it includes all the features of EtherPeek and AiroPeek combined in a single product.

OmniPeek also supports remote capture and analysis, which makes it a perfect solution for large enterprise networks, where administrators are responsible for troubleshooting and managing network segments on other floors or in other buildings. It’s also perfect for service organizations who want to be able to resolve problems quickly on customer sites without necessarily having to roll a truck.

Why use OmniPeek instead of EtherPeek or AiroPeek?

There are three simple reasons:

#1: Support for All Network Topologies in a Single Product

OmniPeek gives you one analyzer for all your network topologies, including 802.11 wireless networks, as well as Ethernet and Gigabit wired topologies. You don’t have to switch from one analyzer to another. OmniPeek is the only analyzer you need.

#2: More Functionality

OmniPeek includes important new functionality not found in EtherPeek or AiroPeek. This functionality includes:

  • Support for remote packet captures on OmniEngines. An OmniEngine is a service that runs on a remote system and captures and analyzes network traffic in real time. You can use an OmniEngine Enterprise to capture packets from multiple remote segments, such as Ethernet or Gigabit segments, then display the analysis results in OmniPeek. Suddenly you have a real-time window into distant parts of your network.
  • VoIP Analysis. OmniPeek Enterprise include industry-leading VoIP analysis technology from Telchemy. You get access to MOS scores, R-Factors, and more.
  • Application Analysis based on Apdex. OmniPeek reports Apdex metrics for the applications on your network, so you can tell at a glance which applications are not performing satisfactorily for end users.

  • Network Forensics. Did you ever need to troubleshoot or analyze network activity that occurred hours or even days ago? OmniPeek, working with an OmniEngine, can help you capture and search large amounts of network traffic to detect network events such as security attacks, policy violations, and configuration errors.

#3: Price

OmniPeek gives you all this extra functionality for almost the same price as our old EtherPeek and AiroPeek products. For example, OmniPeek Basic, which combines all the functionality of EtherPeek SE and AiroPeek SE, and then adds new features such as Apdex reporting, is just $100 more than what you would pay for either EtherPeek SE or AiroPeek SE (a combined value of $1790!).

  • EtherPeek SE: $895
  • AiroPeek SE: $895
  • OmniPeek Basic, which includes all the functionality of both EtherPeek SE: $995  Buy Now
