Wireless Solutions from WildPackets

Whether by design or by default, every company has a wireless network. Just about every laptop purchased today has built-in Wi-Fi capability, and every time one of these laptops accesses your network, even your wired network, you have created a default wireless network. Unless you understand, control and manage this network, you are creating serious vulnerabilities that threaten network security.

In many more cases, wireless networks are in place by design. Whether for the simple convenience of guest access, or for mission-critical network services, constant analysis of the wireless network is required to maintain user satisfaction and to keep your network safe. As more and more companies begin using wireless as a primary medium for data services, including VoIP and video, a network analysis solution that can provide Expert analysis for both wired and wireless segments, simultaneously, is the only viable solution.

With OmniPeek, WildPackets continues to address this need head-on. WildPackets has a complete offering to address wireless network analysis, from the wireless network edge all the way to the data center. OmniPeek addresses the need for portable, simultaneous analysis of wired and wireless network segments, including full support for analysis of 802.11n Draft 2.0 wireless equipment and for remote analysis of both wired and wireless segments, using WildPackets OmniEngine products.

OmniEngine Enterprise

OmniEngine Enterprise

OmniEngine Enterprise extends the network analysis capabilities to remote locations, performing data capture and network analysis on multiple network interfaces, and over all network topologies, including wireless (802.11), Gigabit networks and WAN links. This product is best deployed in workgroups or at remote locations, providing continuous network monitoring and analysis without the need for local network engineering support. To completely cover your network analysis needs, one or more OmniEngines should be deployed at each remote location, with every server farm, and within the network operations core.

OmniPeek Basic

OmniPeek Basic

OmniPeek Basic is a full-featured, stand-alone network analysis tool. This product is ideal for consulting engineers who solve network problems for others, or for small businesses or remote offices where analysis is confined to a small number of interfaces, with no highspeed (Gigabit or WAN) links and a limited number of employees on the network. OmniPeek Basic can collect network data from a single interface, or can be used with up to 2 OmniEngines (OmniEngine Workgroup) to form a distributed network analysis solution spanning a larger, or multi-location, office.

Training

WP-202 Advanced Wireless LAN Assessment and Analysis, is a three-day, hands-on training course focused on troubleshooting wireless networks. This course dives deeper into wireless protocol analysis, particularly a more thorough understanding of wireless management, security, TCP/IP and related protocol variants, both benevolent and nefarious. It builds on the troubleshooting concepts in WP-101 to include long-term statistics gathering, monitoring, and general wireless network health. In-class activities are a bit more advanced, often combining concepts in more complex scenarios for students to decipher. Successful graduates from this class will be ready to immediately apply skills in real-world environments.

Agilent Technologies & Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) - Interoperability Certification Labs (ICL)

http://www.wi-fi.org

The Wi-Fi Alliance is an industry consortium focused on increasing the global adoption of Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) solutions. The WFA recognized that a key enabler of faster adoption for a new technology is the interoperability of equipment from different manufacturers. Agilent Technologies, under contract from the WFA, was tasked to create and operate several Interoperability Certification Labs around the world. To meet its objective, the ICL established a standard test bed that would be used in all labs. WildPackets’ AiroPeek product was an integral part of this test bed, and has been instrumental to the certification of all products that bear the Wi-Fi Alliance logo.
