Broadcom Wireless Driver v3.40.100.0 Beta

Important Note: This driver has been supplied by Broadcom and is not one developed in-house by WildPackets.  Because of this, the driver has not been fully tested with WildPackets’ Wireless Network Analyzers, and WildPackets does NOT provide support for this driver.

Please refer to http://www.wildpackets.com/support/drivers for the most up-to-date information on supported wireless adapters and drivers.

This driver may work with the current versions of AiroPeek SE, AiroPeek NX, OmniPeek, and Omni Engine; however, it has not been tested by WildPackets.

The BRCM Wireless Driver v3.40.100.0 Beta should support the following adapters (Not tested by WildPackets):

  • BRCM Wireless Adapter 4306
  • BRCM Wireless Adapter 4309
  • BRCM Wireless Adapter 4301 (MiniPCI, Cardbus)

Important Notes and limitations:

  • The BRCM wireless adapter must be the only 802.11 card installed.
  • Windows Zero Config must be disabled before the driver can be used.
  • Network services are not available while using this driver.
  • Correct channel selection may not occur in WildPackets Wireless Analyzers for some adapters when selecting a channel by BSSID or ESSID.

Tip of the Month
Time to ‘Select’
This month I’m going to address the need of being able to actively select certain packets from an active capture. This occurs when you have an active capture running, which you cannot stop for whatever reason, but you wish to apply a filter to it.
