Return to top of page When I run the Throughput test more than once in iNetTools, my results don't look right. What's wrong?

When using iNetTools for Throughput testing, you'll want to note that iNetTools invokes Internet Explorer to make its HTTP get requests. Once Internet Explorer has cached a web page, iNetTools displays throughput results based on accessing that cached copy.

This issue is noted in the ReadMe for iNetTools. As a work-around, after running your Get Request for the first time, open the Internet Explorer properties page in the Temporary Internet Files section and click on the Delete Files... button. (To open this window, go to Start --> Setting --> Control Panel --> Internet Options.) After each time you do this, you can re-run your test, and you will then see an un-cached result.

Return to top of page When I launch my iNetTools 2.6 for Windows, why do I get an error message stating that the IPHLPAPI.DLL file is missing?

You should upgrade to the latest version of iNetTools. If you are not eligible to upgrade, the segment below should help.

The IPHLPAPI.DLL is installed as part of several Microsoft applications, most notably Internet Explorer. If you do not have Internet Explorer installed, or you do not have version 5.0 or greater, please install the latest version.

If you have previously installed Internet Explorer 5.0 or above and still receive this error, you may have performed a minimal installation which does not install this DLL. To install the DLL:

  • Go to Add/Remove programs, select Internet Explorer and click on the Add/Remove button.
  • Select Add a Component from the subsequent window and then OK.
  • In the Component Options window under Internet Explorer, select Offline Browsing Pack.
  • Click on Next and follow the instructions to complete the installation.

After completing the installation of the Offline Browser Pack, iNetTools will launch normally.

Return to top of page Are there compatibility issues with iNetTools and MacOS 9.1?

The Ping tool was not working with earlier versions but has been fixed in iNetTools version 2.6.

Return to top of page I registered my iNetTools 2.6 for Mac with my 15-digit serial number. Then it gave me a message that the "evaluation copy" had been running for 5 minutes and quit. Do I need a new serial number to register it?

No, just launch it again. The 'running for 5 minutes and quit' error only happens the first time. Subsequent launches of iNetTools for Mac (with a valid 15-digit serial number) will NOT incorrectly place you in evaluation mode.
